Blizzard representatives recently responded to queries regarding Starcraft 2’s Battle Report #2, confirming that the match will showcase Terrans squaring off against the new and improved Zerg. Like Battle Report #1, the match will be recorded in its entirety and commented upon by e-sports casters. This footage will be the first time that the Zerg has been featured after its recent graphical overhaul, which was aimed at making the race more sinister and insect-like, a radical departure from the cartoonish palette of the first game. As usual, no date for the match (or its public release) has yet been announced.

In addition to the upcoming report, Blizz also released some detailed information about Protoss air units:

We have Void Ray, Phoenix, Mothership, Carrier, Warp Prism, Observer. Mothership moves slowly, can teleport to any Protoss building, can do huge damage to a single target with Vortex and cloaks everything nearby on the ground (including buildings). Mothership is build-limit-one. This is done primarily for balance reasons. You use her as a base defense that can be anywhere you want in a flash. Sometimes you push into an enemy base with her. Testing on her remains a pain because she is so high-tech we don’t see her in a lot of games. Right now she is reasonably cool, but we are not in love with her yet.

It seems to me that using the Mothership in conjunction with the Dark Pylon is going to be a no brainer for late-game tactics. The Mothership can cloak the DP and everything else on the ground (perhaps an entire satellite base, if small enough) while the DP can cloak the Mothership, rendering the entire force invisible. Sounds pretty nasty.
